First Things First!

Read Your Bible A good place to start is the Book of John. Commit to reading everyday - always picking up today where you left off yesterday.

Talk To The Lord Daily It doesn't matter if you pray silently or out loud. He can hear you either way.

Meet Regularly with other Bible believing Christians (Hebrews 10:25)

Be Baptized according to our Lord's command (Matthew 28:19, Acts 2:38)

Tell others, begin sharing your new faith immediately (Mark 5:19-20)

It is important to understand that temptations come even when we belong to Jesus Christ. Our choice is whether we will deal with the temptations our way or God's way.

2 Peter 1:4-11 instructs believers to add certain things to their faith (request free book). If these things are added, we are assured that we will be fruitful in the knowledge of God and will never fall. What a promise!

When we choose to become a Christian, we are not simply
embracing a philosophy.

We are embracing a faith that, from now on, must be
demonstrated through our choices and lifestyle.

That is why it is good for the new Christian to do an inventory of lifestyle, habits and possesions,
and ruthlessly get rid of whatever does not glorify God.

We are embracing the Word of God (as that is the "only"
source of revelation concerning this God we have chosen to place our faith in).

It alone is the Christian's guide to victorious peaceful
living.

The new Christian must begin to read and study the Word of
God Regularly and systematically.

Read everyday--always picking up today where you left off yesterday--the gospel of John is a good place to start.

We are giving up ownership of ourselves and placing our
lifestyles and choices into the hands of a "master" who
"purchased" us with his own blood.

The very first thing we need to understand as new Christians is that our salvation is not an emotion or "feel good" thing (although it does feel good at times).

It is an "ownership" thing. No matter how we "feel," we now "belong" to Jesus.

We are no longer our own, for we have been bought with a price.

We are giving up ownership of ourselves and placing our
lifestyles and choices into the hands of a "master" who
"purchased" us with his own blood.

We are no longer masters of our own destinys, for we have been bought with a price.

Jesus Christ is in the business of changing lives. He wants to change your life. He wants to use you to change others. There are hundreds of millions or people in the world today who do not know Jesus Christ. Do you think God could use you to help those people?

If you make yourself available to Christ, then he can work in your life to make you a more mature Christian; he can motivate you to to share Christ with others, and then he will use you to help other Christians grow to maturity. He can make you a spiritual leader.

The result of following Christ is that God can make you a disciple...then make disciples through you! You can know how to lead people to Christ and help them grow to the point of maturity...where they can lead others to Christ and help them grow to maturity...and thus the process continues....
